Beyoncé To Star In Clint Eastwood's 'A Star Is Born'

Back to the big screen.

She's headed back to the big screen. Beyoncé Knowles will star in a remake of A Star Is Born, being directed and produced by Oscar winner Clint Eastwood. The remake will be the fourth telling of the A Star Is Born story, the most memorable being the 1976 version with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson as star-crossed lovers or sorts. While new version plot details are naturally under wraps, the original story revolves around a has-been rock star who falls in love with a young, up-and-coming songstress trying to make her big break in the business. No announcements have been made regarding the male role, but a report by Deadline mentioned names like Will Smith, Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Hamm as potential leads. With Oscar fave Eastwood at the helm of this new project, Beyoncé is set to fly back into familiar territory of playing an aspiring singer-turned-superstar. It is said to be a full-on musical with production set to begin sometime in the fall.
