> Dominating the charts, playlists and dance floors throughout the world is business as usual for Fragma. With their most current single already establishing itself as a staple of radio mixshows and clubs across the US, "You Are Alive" is following the success achieved by Fragma's global dance anthems "Toca's Miracle" and "Everytime You Need Me." The wait for their highly anticipated album Toca in North America is finally over, with their debut full-length now released domestically on the Groovilicious imprint. Toca contains eleven tracks of uplifting dance music, including the three aforementioned smash hits, and promises to be one of the hottest dance albums of 2001. Considered one of Europe's finest production teams, Fragma is comprised of the well-known German DJ duo, brothers Dirk and Marco Duderstadt, alongside veteran music maker Ramon Zenker, otherwise known for his work with Hardfloor, Paffendorf and Bellini. The one who puts words to the music is Joern Friese, a real Renaissance man when it come to his classic lyrics. Fragma is fairly uncommon in that there were three different singers for each of their first three singles. The female guest vocalist chosen for "Toca's Miracle" was UK singer Coco. It was her powerful, emotional style that added the right amount of energy to the low slung bass line of the song's infectious Euro-trance sound. For Fragma's follow up track "Everytime You Need Me," it was Maria Rubia's angelic voice that accompanied the trance inspired sound. Rubia's bright vocals are a perfect match for the dreamy, flowing keyboards of the single, and make the song instantly recognizable. Following the guest artists for "Toca's Miracle" and "Everytime You Need Me," Fragma has brought a new, German vocalist, Damae, into the proceedings for their third single, "You Are Alive." She reaches deep within her soul and delivers amazingly heartfelt vocals, making the song explode with energy. Damae's vocal talents have also earned her the coveted position of Fragma's permanent singer, and therefore it is her voice that you hear on all of the remaining tracks from the album. As the newly established "face" of Fragma, Damae explains how she first came across the brilliant producer behind the popular dance group. "About a year ago, I met Ramon Zenker at a party in Cologne, Germany," she reveals. "We talked, and I asked him if he's interested in recording something with me. He invited me to the studio, and he liked my voice." Striking while the iron's hot, Fragma isn't wasting any time, and is in the studio working on their sophomore album right now. "The new tracks are the typical Fragma sound, but there are also a lot of vocals on it, and a few different things," Damae says. "Some songs are more trance, some are more house, but they are all club songs." She also hinted that they may do a special ballad for Christmas too, following the trend of other pop stars. Damae credits her diverse musical background with giving her the depth she provides for Fragma. "I sang as a singer in a punk rock band!" she laughs. "I love dance music very much, but I also like soul music, or rock music, so it depends how I feel." Fragma's adventurous singer also encourages artists to follow her example. "I have a lot of respect for people who are on stage and do their dreams." The dance diva describes Fragma's sound as "dance music with pop elements, with very positive and melodic vocals," and feels a special connection with her personal philosophy in their current single "You Are Alive." "It's like a message," Damae explain. "It's exactly what I think about life, that you have to think positive and be happy, and don't care about so many things, just be happy." Affecting people in a positive way with Fragma's music is also important to Damae. "That's why I love 'You Are Alive' so much. It's a very positive song, and we have a lot of reaction from people who are depressed and they say, 'If I hear your song, I feel better.' And that's so…
