Legendary DJ Sasha returns to the US in 2006 with new Fundacion residency dates, expanding from monthly club residencies to bi-monthlies in four cities. More information here. The dates kick off January 27 at crobar in New York City, and SASHA has confirmed Fundacion again at Avalon in Los Angeles and new cities with Glow in Washington, D.C. and Vinyl in Denver throughout February, March, April and June. As in Fundacion dates in the past, Sasha will utilize the Maven, his one-of-a-kind, custom-designed controller enhancing his high-octane 100% tailored DJ sets. As Steve Baltin wrote in the Los Angeles Times February 24, 2005 when the Maven debuted at Fundacion in Los Angeles, "Combining a controller he designed himself, an Apple laptop, and Ableton software, the electronic setup transports DJ-ing beyond the realm of turntables and flying at the speed of light into the digital world." "The Fundacion residency shows last year in New York and LA were so fantastic it made my decision to return to Crobar and Avalon an easy one" says Sasha. "I've added Washington, D.C. and Denver as they were two of my favorites from my U.S. tour last year. I'm really excited to return to these venues with some of my favorite DJs in 2006." The 2005 Fundacion nights in America served as the testing ground for the Maven controller. Its success took Sasha on a world wide seven-month tour with sell-outs in major destinations like London, Tokyo, Beijing, Sydney, and Buenos Aires as well as such out-of-the-way locales as Mumbai, Marrakech, and Istanbul.
